I bought my first real estate property at 20 years old — didn’t even tell my parents. While working full-time at one of Canada’s top 6 banks, I spent nights and weekends with my dad running home renovations. Three years later, I flipped the script: full-time building homes, part-time in finance. After 8 years of grinding with my father, I launched my own general contracting business from scratch and scaled it to over $2M in revenue — running up to 4 large-scale projects at once and earning a reputation as one of the most trusted renovators in the Greater Toronto Area. But the long hours took a toll. My daughter asked why I was never home for dinner… and a few months later, I landed in the hospital — dangerously close to kidney failure from burnout.
