Stephen Cox is a racing driver, television host, and CEO of Sopwith Motorsports Television Productions. Cox spent 16 seasons as an analyst for Mecum Auto Auction's national television program on NBCSN and Motor Trend, commentating on the finest collector cars and muscle cars in the world. Cox has hosted motorsports programs on most major American networks at events including: Champ Car World Series Indianapolis 500 Autoweek Mecum Auctions Paris-Dakar Rally USAR ProCup stock car series Cox is among the most versatile drivers in auto racing, having posted wins on both ovals and road courses, on both dirt and asphalt, in stock cars, open wheel cars and sports cars. He has scored top finishes in off road desert racing trucks, and was named Mitsubishi's test driver for the Lancer Evolution IX rally-inspired car. He currently competes in the Super Cup Stock Car Series and World Racing League sports cars. Cox's career driving accomplishments include : 25 career wins 19 career poles 2 series championship titles Cox has authored numerous motorsports-oriented books including the definitive history of the 1972 Penske L&M Porsche 917/10 and the 1966 SCCA Group 2 Shelby Mustang.
