About Me
Jim Hellmold served more than 33 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, rising to 3rd in Command of one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the United States. In 2021, he retired as the Chief of Special Operations, where he commanded large scale (SWAT) tactical and emergency operations throughout Los Angeles County, including the 2020 LA Riots ie "BLM Protests." He has worked as a technical advisor for well-known Hollywood productions, including the “X-Files” and “L.A. Detectives,” and occasionally appears as a subject matter expert for news programs. Jim currently serves as a Senior Advisor for the US State Department and USDOJ ICITAP (on contract). His involvement includes assistance to foreign law enforcement partners to build capacity in combatting corruption, transnational criminal organizations, and terrorist networks.
