About Me
At 21, I embarked on a life-changing journey by joining the US Army as an infantryman. Little did I know that this decision would shape my future in ways I could never have imagined. During my second deployment in the treacherous mountains of Korangal Valley in Afghanistan, I found myself facing an unexpected and devastating ambush that left me with a broken back. From that moment on, I was confined to a wheelchair, and the road to recovery seemed arduous and uncertain. However, it was during this challenging time that I was introduced to the incredible world of service dogs. Witnessing firsthand the immense impact these animals had on individuals with disabilities, I realized the true value of their companionship and assistance. Motivated by my own experience and inspired by the remarkable abilities of service animals, I dedicated myself wholeheartedly to the cause. With the unwavering support of my own service dog, I was able to regain my mobility and regain my independence. This transformative journey ignited a passion within me to help others in similar situations. For over a decade now, I have been the proud owner and operator of my own company ApexGSD, specializing in the breeding and training of German Shepherds. Through my company, I have been able to provide individuals with service dogs, protection dogs, and dogs trained in basic obedience. It brings me great joy to witness the positive impact these animals have on people's lives, empowering them to face their challenges with newfound strength and confidence. Additionally, I have gained extensive knowledge in the field of dog training, working with all breeds. My expertise encompasses various aspects of dog training, and I am here to guide and assist others in their journey with their beloved pets. Furthermore, I am honored to hold the distinction of being a certified AKC evaluator for the past 11 years. This certification has allowed me to specialize in modifying aggression and working with puppies, further expanding my expertise in the field of dog training. In conclusion, my journey from a young infantryman, facing adversity on the battlefield, to a successful entrepreneur and passionate advocate for service animals and dogs in general has been nothing short of extraordinary. I am grateful for the opportunity to use my own experiences to make a difference in the lives of others, and I look forward to continuing this meaningful work for years to come.
