About Me
Philip James McGoldrick is an award winning British- European film director, writer and producer. Born in Warsaw in 1987, Philip graduated with honours from the RITCS film academy Brussels and subsequently won a scholarship to study Directing Fiction at The National Film & Television School (UK). His film work has received 50+ award nominations internationally. His short film 'Siemiany' won the Premiers Plans Grand Prix de Jury and the Paris Shorts' 'Best Director' award, and was also nominated for the Crystal Bear at the 2010 Berlinale. In 2018, Philip directed the UK theatrical premier of the play 'Mariage Blanc', written by the legendary Polish playwright Tadeusz Rozewicz. In early 2024, Philip won the Shiny Award for a short film 'Born of violence movement piece' and was nominated for the Cannes Lions, Saatchi New Creators Showcase for the same film later in the year. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his first feature film "TRAMP", alongside developing a feature length documentary 'Born of Violence. He is the founder of EMC productions alongside his partner and musician Marina Elderton.
