Derek Lee Nixon is an Award Winning Feature Film Producer, and Former Child Actor — starring in Mary-Kate and Ashley’s “When In Rome”, “The Jerk Theory”, “Do-Over”, and “Bone Boys” from The creators of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, amongst others. In 2005, Nixon first Produced “Hallettsville” with Gary Busey, in which he also wrote and starred in. Immediately followed by “The Lights”(2007), “Outrage”(2009), Danny Carrales’s faith based “Heavens War” (2010). The Indie darling “A Schizophrenic Love Story”(2011), Nixon Directed/Produced the cult followed “Supernatural Activity”(2012), and then Academy Award eligible Director Ya’Ke Smith’s critically acclaimed “Wolf”(2013). Nixon produced the Zombie Comedy “The Walking Deceased”(2014), Acquired the rights to and produced “Dead Awake”(2015) from the writer/creator of the Final Destination franchise Jeffrey Reddick. After his first son was born, Nixon turned the focus into family content, to be able to share a message of strength or inspiration to children.. “Round of Your Life”(2016) came soon after. Nixon created the series of Dolphin/Family/Island Adventure Films, starting with “Dolphin Kick”(2017), where it reached the #1 streamed movie in North America for over 3 weeks straight. The 2nd of the Dolphin Adventures was “Dolphin Island(2019)”. In between Dolphin features, he produced Lionsgate’s 2022 release of Jurassic Tale, a dinosaur family comedy. . As of December 2023, he is in active preproduction on Saving Bimini, the last of the Dolphin series.
